I live in baltimore, and from reports i have heard, we have a high percentage of people using over the air tv sets, as such, the news around here, everyday, is
just saturated with news stories, countdowns, interviews, yada yada. I wanted to know if anyone elses areas were going as crazy as here. The funny thing is i
work with digital VOD transmission and ATSC signals everyday, and from what i have seen, every news oulet is making it amazingly difficult for your average
dummy to understand.
what they really need to say is" hey, if you watch a little tv during your night shift that your manager doesnt know about...its not going to work. If you watch tv and there is a fine line between how much statis is on the tv, and how much actual picture is there, its not going to work. If you use an antena with your tv, and you know nothing about technology, its not going to work.
some of the information the news stations are pushing is almost confusing as hell to me. one reported to run a test last week. they said they were go to turn off their analog signal, and if you were hooked up properly, you would see no interuption...but that is totally flawed. My sony tv has 2 tuners, one is analog and one is digital, and most tvs are like this as well. When you drop the analog signal, it doesnt just switch to the same channel on digital...what do the think my tv is smart?!?! so this whole test, that an entire news station was behind.....was totally false incorrect and would prove nothing!
