my friend just saw The Edge and Adam in Chicago!!! U2 was there at some undisclosed location doing promo for the new tour/album (US tour starts in Chicago) and
she happened to see them. The Edge and Conan are the only two celebs (ok, and Mikey Cera) that I would not be able to hold it together around - I would succumb
to dork seizure.

Chinese hackers attack iTunes; selling $200 gift cards for $2.60

But Chinese hackers have figured out how to head-fake Apple's iTunes store and get the site to churn out a virtually endless supply of $200 gift cards for free. The hackers then sell the cards to consumers around the world. The going price: About $2.60 (though prices now seem to be creeping up into the region of $5 or $6). China's Taobao website is the primary marketplace for the codes, but they seem to be for sale on all manner of online markets, including eBay. It's hard to know the origin of the codes for sale on the popular auction site -- whether they're legitimate, hacked locally, hacked by Chinese and then bought and resold in the U.S., or altogether phony -- but on eBay $200 iTunes gift cards are generally selling for $70 to $80 right now, still a huge discount vs. retail. According to music consultancy Outdustry, the codes are hacked through automated key-generating software, as hackers appear to have reverse-engineered the algorithm Apple uses to create valid gift card codes. And it's a problem that's likely to get worse. Frankly, I'm not sure there's a way for Apple to distinguish a hacked code vs. a legitimate one, and it can't easily change its algorithm for creating the codes because that would invalidate thousands (or more) or legitimately-issued codes that have yet to be redeemed. There's no easy solution for the company on this one... but until it figures one out, it looks like it's a hacker's market on iTunes. |

Well, they're showing some good common sense. At least.
The yermamas are on cloud 9 last night and today because yerlilsistah got her merit scholarship to attend her first choice school. Not only is the coin welcome, but it was terrifically validating to her as an artist because it was based entirely on her portfolio. We're all kinda giddy...... TRUDY!!!! Aw, tell Sighee we miss her!

thank GOD....i think i'm just about done w/ my monster sxsw spreadsheet. just a few stray set time tba's to track down...and then graze thru a few
bands myspace pages to make sure i get all their shows down.
