Yeah, I hear it in that song, too. I would have never remembered that song if I hadn't clicked on that link. I remember it now from when he toured with John. Definitely the least of the three.

Topping because I hadn't heard this song at all until Tuesday and the only review I had heard was "I don't like it" before my first listen.
It is now on repeat and I am in love. Incidentally, that initial review has been revoked and everyone is now a fan.
Also, I'm pretty sure John and I were listening to the same inspiration channel because Heartbreak Warfare is freakishly close to the inspiration for my current painting that I started back in September. WEIRD.

Deal with it. It's rock'n'roll. |

Definitely hit material this song. Defining beat, nice guitar riff with a generally good well rounded sound to the song. One of those really groovy songs,
it'll be a shame if it doesn't get any radio airplay.

I think it will Tucker. It just grooves too much not to. The only thing I could stopping it is the fact that it's too real for public digestion. I hope not
though I would love to see this song on the airwaves.
It's only music now

fyi, top 40 radio is swapping out singles.
who says is no longer the top 40 track...heartbreak warfare is now the top 40 single. i was out to lunch w/ our local columbia records rep; he had a 1:30p conference call to announce the change. |

Ack! That is excellent news! I cannot wait to hear this on the radio. Still in love.
Joc, you were definitely the person to which I was referring! I just didn't want to speak for you. For some reason I keep being reminded of The Beatles while listening to the album but I'm fairly certain John is a unapologetic non-fan of the Fab Five. Did he shift at some point?

(also, fab 4. unless you include pete best!) ~joc

innnteresting... I always thought his aversion to the Beatles was a little odd and intentionally rebellious.
As for HW, a few pages back I gave it some pretty bad reviews... turns out I was just listening to a pretty bad rip. oops. I like it much better now (I was so confused... it sounded so BLAH) but I still much much prefer how he played it live. I would go back and amend what I said if I thought anyone was going to read it at this point. |

I'm not sure if this has been asked before but does anyone know where the intro of Heartbreak came from. The first hit on youtube when you search for
'stage dive' is this video and it has exactly the same sample as in the intro.

Loving the drum beat on this. Very solid and consistent, man Steve Jordan has so much style. He's turned something simple into something complex

has anyone tried the augmented reality video with their pre-order t-shirt? I dont have a web cam at work or I would, might be neat to see if it worked while
you were wearing the shirt......

The intro is very similar to U2 - Is he using a sample or is this just coincidence?

Just heard this song on the radio, staying in LA (trip overseas). It's already making radio-play i guess it's taking over as the new album single
