He was using a TRex Replica for the delay.
I think it was the Trio pedalboard. "Cats are cute. But kittens are cuter." -John Mayer |

Okay, well... Dumble Steel String Singer and a TR... I'm in love. I'm not one for lighting up the boards with performance critique
I will say that the sound guy for that show needs to be fired. Pearl Jam the other night sounded the same way... As far as them playing again - that's kinda what they've been doing cooped up in that house. I think that it was funny to seen the JM3 out in front of caged children. just a guy named john |

It was great to see something new. Not my favorite performance but nice to see some guitar work and Steve was wailing.

It was probably filmed about 5:00 their time. Because 4 hours ago, JM Tweeted that he'd just played.

I haven't liked Mayer's overdrive tones since Where the Light Is. I hardly ever watch that DVD because I dont like the tone.

i loved teh rhythm guitar parts. he made the electric church version of California dreaming. I agree with whoever said that they had not practiced enough.
testament to them that they sound that good when they don't have much practice though. rewatch it tomorrow and see what i think.

I'm pretty sure Goop grabbed Coco's butt during that show.

I have yet to form a opinion yet on last night. I love that song...and I did enjoy him playing it with the choir and trio, but imaybe Im not so sure I like how
he played it. He tried to take a very simple song and throw in the riffs that made it sound awkward when it sounded like he was rushing his vocals. Im not sure
I like the chords he used, but perhaps it was the tone. He's my .2 also, I like the solo tone, but thought it was too much when he was playing and singing.
TD- Dude, the where the light is tone. I somewhat agree with you, here's my thought: The tone when he was in full band was fabulous. But, for the trio songs, esp the slow slow blues one, he overdid the shit out of it. t sounded like sing. But, when you listen to slow dancing it sounded better to me for some reason. Make sense? |

It's like someone said earlier. It's really midrangy, and my ears always go for the word 'cloudy'. I'm just really not into it as much as a
more classic Strat overdrive.
His clean tone has stayed amazing, but the overdrive is just not my favorite. Just very thick, cloudy, midrangy. Not into it. |
