To the person who asked for a play by play of the night... you might want to hear someone else's version since I didn't even get to see the whole thing. But my night went like this:

About 45 minutes after John twittered about the show, my sister (also a huge JM fan who unfortunately is only 20 1/2! I felt so bad for her!) told me about it & so I got ready really quick and drove an hour to LA from Orange County. When I got there, there was a ton of people waiting in the back alley and after a few minutes I found out it was alredy sold out. I was bummed, but I don't ever give up in situations like this and I knew I needed to stay there no matter what. After waiting there for awhile, a security guard said everyone needed to back up against the wall so a car could drive through...and as it went by I saw that it was John! He drove right by the line & parked his car right outside the back door, not in a parking spot. He didn't say much to the fans cause the paparazzi were like attacking him. It was crazy! I've never seen that in person before.

People started slowly leaving as this guy kept coming out telling us he didn't want us to wait there for nothing because we weren't going to be let in. John had already been playing for awhile, and in my mind I knew I wasn't getting in. I just decided that since I drove so far that I'd wait & see if I could meet him on his way out. One of the paparazzi guys told me he usually only plays a few songs & he'd be out soon, so when the line started moving & the approx. 35 people left were being let in we all assumed the set was over. I almost jumped out of line because obviously I didn't care about going in if the show was over. But the girl checking IDs said he was still playing & I got in for free!

When I opened the doors & saw John playing so close to me I really couldn't believe it. I've never been able to get really good seats to any of his shows ever! The best I've gotten was like 13th row. I really don't know what to say about the show itself because it was a complete blur to me. Watching these YouTube videos really helps me remember though, so thanks to everyone who posted them! I loved all the banter...I haven't heard him talk that much in years. That was good stuff.

Afterward I went up to the stage hoping to at least snap a picture of him to remember the night by. But to my surprise, he actually stood there for quite awhile & took pics and gave autographs to everyone waiting. Without even calling to him, John came up to me and handed me one of his guitar pics! Then he signed my CD booklet & asked if he could use my Sharpie to sign stuff for everyone and he ended up taking it with him. haha! Good trade John! Totally worth it. I also got a picture too. He was super nice & chatty with the whole crowd up there. I have been a fan for so long & at this point, I truly never thought I'd get to meet him because he plays at such big venues now. I honestly am still in shock!

Sorry, this was wayy too long...but I just wrote it because I wanted to remind people to never ever give up! Even when things seem hopeless, something great could end up happening.
