I think we'll mourn his loss as well as the loss of ourselves as children listening to Thriller on the record player.
no matter what you thought of the man himself... his music was his legacy.
RIP

He died from a cardiac arrest today, ...I think John said it very well...

I am in complete disbelief. CNN hasn't confirmed it but, as hard as I am trying to be positive, I am losing hope. My heart goes out to his family. This is
an incredible loss to music. John is right, so much of my childhood is connected to his music.
RIP, Michael. |

Dude, I've got CNN on right now, they have reported that others have confirmed it, but it says on my screen "CNN has not confirmed"

I do not know if this is a negative take on the issue, but I feel like recent generation(s) have a disrespectful attitude towards Michael Jackson which his
death cannot recover from.

disrespectful attitude towards Michael JacksonHis child molestation case may have a lot to do with that. No matter how bizarre a character he was, he was a musical genius in his heyday. Tweet from John: I truly hope he is memorialized as the '83 moonwalking, MTV owning, mesmerizing, unstoppable, invincible Michael Jackson.

Wonder who will inherit the Beatles library - if it has to be sold to cover his debts, I sure as hell hope McCartney and Ringo snap it up.
Possibly only a matter of time before this thread gets moved to the nJMc unless we keep quoting Mayer in here. If so, don't be afraid JMc-ers. There's nobody on the nJMc left to hassle you. There's a thread already for you.

Respectfully, Michael Jackson is dead. That is all there is to say.
Atrocities are not excused by legacies-

I think it should stay in JM. If only because without Michael Jackson we might not have a John Mayer or a lot of other musicians we know today. It doesn't
matter what instruments they play.
Ugh. This sucks. |

Didn't see your thread Deb, automatically went to nJMc on this one, but today....who gives a flying ......sad and doing my very best to repress any
negativity about the man. He had is day in court, please just put that aside and remember his legacy of music. He will be facing a higher court now, not for
us to judge anything at this point. RIP Michael.

So sad, such an American icon, a brilliant talent, a tortured individual, in loving memory.
