i think i'd choose based on the sound and feel of each guitar. play both and just pick from there. in terms of how they look?? i'd be much less worried about that as i would be how they sound and feel in my hands. if i were going on look alone, i'd pick the proto because i think buying a purposely reliced guitar is just asinine. beat your own guitar up so you have the stories for down the road. i'll always know the dent right next to where my strap attaches was from the first time i stuck my strap on and dropped the guitar onto the edge of my piano bench. 14 years later, i still check both ends of the strap before i put my guitar on.
When are they coming out anyway?
