John, please call your boy, Kanye. He is an ass. Poor Taylor Swift.

Agreed. Such an unclassy move by Kanye. He can really be an asshole... It's too bad, because I actually enjoy his music, but his attitude and behavior just
ruins everything.

I am calling stunt on this. It just reeks of it, sort of like the Borat/Eminem thing. It was just sort of...predictable coming from Kanye.
Why in the world would MTV invite him and give him this access to begin with? MTV seemingly always has a way of making some incident from the VMAs newsworthy. Color me skeptical on the validity of this. |

Do you think Taylor Swift would let her speech be cut off, and then made a fool? I dunno. Kanyes a dick, he doesnt care. He did the whole George Bush doesnt
like black people stunt a few years back too.

I don't know for sure if Taylor was in on this...which I guess would downplay the "stunt" element, but I feel pretty confident in saying that
Kanye and someone at the VMAs knew about this in advanced.

Shout out to Beyonce. That was pure class. I'm so happy Taylor got her moment.

These stunts are getting really ridiculous. They need to quit inviting him to these types of events.

I'm with RY on this.
I didn't see it, as I stopped caring about what MTV said/did over 5 years ago. But, it does appear that they've become a network that has decided the only way they can stay 'relevant' is to resort to crass pranks as a way of generating buzz. Taylor has a wicked sense of humor- so it would not surprise me one iota if this were staged from the get-go...she could sell it. ~ dawn

So of course i had to see them. No disrespect meant to Ms. beyonce, but check out the chubby packageon this guy. (P.s. Give Mr. Kanye a break, he probably just had a "dick speaking, wordstaken over" moment. |

The only reason people care is because a black man is disrespecting a young white girl with blond hair. Taylor Swift needs to open her eyes literally (too
squinty) and see the only reason people are supporting her is backlash from Obama being president and interracial porn.
"What do women want?" ad exec Don Draper asks his boss Roger in the middle of a workday. "Who cares?" Roger shrugs, and takes another long
drink from his whiskey glass.

its stuart wrote: He did really seem to have a spoiled moment. As far as all the racial enmity bubbling to the surface, who knows if that's even the case on the part of Mr. west. Beyonce's video was pretty good as far as it being dance and an artistic expression. I personally though, do like Ms. Swift's song better, though the video does seem geared towards a much younger set. MTV does also seem to be geared toward a much younger audience as well, so I can see why she won. Besides, as much as I enjoyed watching the dancing in the Single ladies video, maybe MTV is trying to discourage the whole leotard bottom trend that seems to be going on. They really must not mind all that much though considering it got nominated in the first place. Since she seems interested in drama, perhaps Ms. Swift could pull a "Harry Potter" and add a token black and Asian to her next video and squash anyone's possible assumptions. I guess that would apply to many of country's music stars and goes to the other side as well. |

Ry, I agree with you in that there is a high possibility this was staged. Especially because MTV had it under their "moments to remember" section on
the VMA's website 0 seconds after the show ended, and the camera panned STRAIGHT to Beyonce without hesitation. However the only reason to believe this
wasnt staged, is when you ask, why taylor swift? why not like Pink or something?
