BATTLE STUDIES ALBUM RELEASE SHOW AT TORONTO'S SOUND ACADEMY ON NOVEMBER 24TH A special album release show will take place at Sound Academy in Toronto on November 24th. The performance will be filmed and broadcast in early 2010 via partner, sympatico.ca. Tune into www.inmusic.ca for future broadcast updates. Tickets to this event are available exclusively to past members of Local-83 for 24 hours beginning Friday, October 23rd at noon EDT. If any tickets remain, they will be available for public sale on October 24th at noon EDT via paperless ticketing at ticketmaster.ca. It's only music now Check out my music page here. I am not getting this either, I mean some advance warning would be nice but of course, we are all just sitting around twiddling our thumbs waiting for the announcements so we can run to our wallets. I'll skip this one. I think it's cool for the Canadian fans, however, like you said, I suspect that a lot of east coast canadian fans got tickets for the NY show. Sooooo... they can go to two shows, never a bad thing. Can't fault them for the L-83 thank you shows, it's a nice idea...

I can't believe he's coming to Toronto! It's a tiny place! General Admission only but now, as long as I can get tickets this time, Alex will be able to go!!! I think it has a capacity of about 2000. I am really excited now! Can't wait to tell Kelsey and Alex when they get home....just imagine how much easier the ticketing for NY would have been if some people knew about this show and weren't even trying!! Oh well, I would have been really upset if I found out about this AFTER dropping a grand on NY. Now my John Mayer fund is still in tact for the tour and MCC3. I'm a happy camper!! Libby

Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	I think it's great that they offered up another show for past L-83 members. It's nice for people who couldn't get tix for NYC. I won't be able to go b/c it's too close to Thanksgiving and airfare to Toronto is much higher than NYC, but kudos to Mick Management nonetheless. They can't make EVERYONE happy, but you can't say that they don't at least listen to the fans' concerns. I'm sure we'll be seeing a full concert schedule soon. They need to let me know how bad they're gonna hit me before I go out and spend money on Christmas!

Its just southeast of the downtown core along the water so that you can look back @ the downtown for a gorgeous view. I saw modest mouse there a couple months ago and other than security guard being RIDICULOUS with the strip search and confiscating some personal property of mine, the venue was incredible. JM gives so much love to Toronto, its awesome.

Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	I saw Keane at Sound Academy in May, so glad I'm somewhat familiar with the venue. My knee-jerk reaction was to think that with it being right at the lake AND general admission, I better be prepared and dig out my thermal underwear in anticipation of standing out in the cold on a November evening ... brrrrrr. Actually, I'm just grateful that he's making the trek up here. What an unexpected surprise. Happy, happy, joy, joy. So here's hoping the L-83 site has ironed out the glitches that people seemed to encounter for the NYC show. I will dutifully have my fingers poised over my keyboard at work at 11:59 EDT on Friday. ...and here's wishing the next time John plays Toronto, he does so at Massey Hall, which is my dream venue to experience one of his performances. Acoustically, the place is absolutely stellar. (Although sitting outdoors by the lake on a warm summer's eve at Molson Amphitheatre is a little piece of heaven.) .....Man oh man... this was a nice surprise.

I didn't realize they changed the name... lol Capacity is 2,600 in the main room, but the info I found says that for large events and concerts both rooms are opened up I hate the fact that I am going to have to show up early to get in line because it's general admission, but I'm SO glad I have no classes on Tuesdays - I'm free all day Last Edited By: kissyfitt 10/20/2009 8:54 PM. Also with it being GA, no one will be tossing anything back. It will be get in grab your tickets and get out! Scalpers are locked out too because you have to show photo ID and the credit card at the venue to get in because it's paperless. This sounds so much better! Kristin, I think with both sections of the Sound Academy open it holds a total of 3500 people. But yeah, not looking forward to standing out in the cold waiting. Woolies for sure!! Kelsey came home from school and has a mandatory practice for her school musical that opens that week and can't go so she's super bummed. New York she could have done. So either way, I can only have one happy daughter. Ah well, what can you do? Libby...I'm happy! I really think I'm going to be able to get tickets for this!!!

I volunteered there for years and I sent Dickinson an email a few weeks ago asking him if he needed any help with the productions because I would like to volunteer, but he hasn't gotten around to responding to me yet. But now school is filling up my schedule so I'm not sure how much I am going to be able to volunteer anyway. I always love the productions they do though. You think it will only be about 3,500 total? Eek. I really hope I get tickets! And I'll definitely be bundled up for the wait, too. How does wheelchair seating work with general admission, Libby? I would hate for Alex's view to be blocked.

It's too funny because she is actually doing what they expect her to do (the dog, not Kelsey...Kelsey is too, of course!) Any time we've gone to the Sound Academy they've let us in first with the wheelchair and they had a separate section at the side. The view wasn't great but if she's the only chair, I can get her far enough back that she can have a clear view. The last time we were there, there were about five or six wheelchairs and it kind of sucked because some of the attendants got in front of the people in the chairs and blocked the view. Libby

I got the email from Local-83 as I was a member. What if I don't have a credit card? Can i still have my father purchase them via his? The only problem is he wont be coming to the show with me. Can I just bring his credit card along with my ID ? Is there anyway I can work around this? In addition does anybody have an idea how much the tickets will be costing?? And does general admission seating mean that first come first sit? So if you arrive really early and wait you'll get the closest possible seating? Sorry I know asked many questions, I hope somebody can answer them !

Wizard of Oz would be a great one to do! That's hilarious that your dog is in the production! Attendants who are accompanying people in wheelchairs STANDING in front of said people in wheelchairs? That's so inconsiderate. I hope that all works out for you without too much trouble.
